BE THE FIRST TO READ A BRAND NEW MUSICAL!
OzTheatrics are passionate about ensuring our young people have the opportunity to present Australian stories on stage in their schools and academies. Having Aussie performers presenting Aussie characters with Aussie voices is important to our national identity. 2020 will see us introduce a new program which allows our Junior Theatre Festival Australia family to work directly with writers and composers to breathe life into new dialogue and lyrics.
This exciting new program will not only allow young performers the chance to read a brand new musical work but will allow writers and composers to hear how a show is working before it moves into the Pilot Workshop phase. The program will also involve participants providing direct feedback to the writers and composers, meaning they will have a direct impact on the musicals story and character development. This is a unique opportunity for young performers to learn about the early stages of the development of a musical with other students from all over Australia.
The cast will be selected from an audition process with successful auditionees invited to attend online read throughs before the script is presented via a LIVE online stream before an international audience made up of the authors, creators, families and the entire JTF Australia family.
